Take the number of employess you have, divide it by 2, and that is the number of SIP trunks you need to bring in to your business. Each SIP trunk ranges form $12.75 to $29.75 depending on your needs. SIP trunks are also an inexpensive way to add to your disaster recovery plan ensuring connection to your business. Purchasing A New Phone System

We have been in the Telecom industry long enough to know that most business owners or companies dread the thought of purchasing a new phone system. It ranks up there with stepping on a rusty nail!

Most people really have no idea how far telecommunications have come and that is perfectly okay. I usually hear ” My phone rings and I pick it up” or “I pick up the phone and dial who I need to. What else would I need to do”?

Well, when you pick up the phone and need to transfer an important call, can you see if the person is available on your PC before you transfer the call? Can you send a secure IM to the person before you transfer the call to let them know who is calling and there might be a customer service issue? Can you send a voice mail message with a .wav file attachment to your E-mail address to listen to when you are out of the office? Can you work from home and function as if  you were there? If you need to call someone in another location 4 states away do you have to dial long distance or can you just dial their extension? Can you search a website and click on the phone number to make a call without ever touching your phone? How about giving customers and people one phone number to contact you or do you have to give them your work number, cell number, and home office number (if applicable)? Can you set up a conference call with clients or co-workers without ever calling them?

Not a rusty nail anymore is it? The items I listed above are just a sampling of some of the applications and features available to you today.

The bottom line is VoIP technology can help your business and employees become better, faster, and more productive. I encourage anyone who reads this to explore a VoIP solution for their company. It is reliable, offers tons of features and applications, and can absolutely save you money in the long run.

Is VoIP technology right for you?

VoIP technology has come along way in the last 5 years. It can now be said that it truly is a reliable and cost efficient way to communicate in business. With applications available that include presence management, unified communications, the ability to have remote workers function as if they were in the office, and many cell phone integrations, your business can increase productivity and realize true cost savings. If you are interested in a VoIP solution for your business, make sure the provider you are dealing with is a reputable business who understand the technology themselves. I cannot tell you how many companies out there claim to sell VoIP solutions but really have no idea what they are doing. There are also thousands of web sites out there that want you to fill out a form so you can receive an instantaneous quote for SIP trunks or VoIP technologies which is great, but what they don’t tell you is that they are just a sub-agent of a larger company, really have no company themselves, and are probably sitting at home in their underwear promising you the moon and the stars.

The technology works, just make sure you partner with someone who understand your needs, can recommend the right solutions, and can actually implement what they say they can. Your business communications are the life-line of your business. It is a serious matter so make sure you feel good about the company you partner with.

SIP Trunks are here!

SIP trunks are an amazing way to really cut down up to 70% off your current phone bill. SIP trunks have the flexibility to offer programs that include unlimited local and long distance in the 48 contiguous states, Canada, and Puerto Rico for a fixed monthly cost. You also can customize your program. If you only need unlimited local calls and maybe a low cost per minute for occasional long distance calls, you can custom fit a program specific to your business needs.
